22-May-2005 -- My first ever confluence point and it wasn't that hard. My wife and I were travelling to western NSW and beyond and I noticed a confluence point just 1 KM off the main road that hadn't been visited so thought I would give it a try.
Leaving my wife to mind the car I set off due south into whats described in Oz as "scrub". After 100 meters or so I couldnt see the car anymore and looking around could see how easy it would be to get lost in this country without a GPS. I had marked my start point as a waypoint but I had only 1 bar left on the battery and wished I had put in new batteries.
The concluence point itself was unremarkable but it was fun getting there and getting back.
