06-Aug-2010 -- Unseasonal heavy rains for much of inland Australia forced us to change our desert travelling plans at the last moment, so it was over to Western Australia for more exploring the great outback areas that they have to offer and that had not received as much rain as other parts of Australia. Day 3 since leaving home had us arrive at the quaint little fuel and motel stop of Madura. After lunch, I enquired about the Madura Cave that lies a few kilometres from the fuel stop, which also happens to be very close to this confluence.

Heading down a very good dirt road from the town had taken us to the closest point that we could drive to the confluence, which gave us a 2.9 kilometre walk to reach our goal. The day was a perfect day for walking and during the walk to the confluence, there were many kangaroos sighted. The walk was through mainly bluebush and occasional stands of Mallee. With my GPS beeping to let me know that we had reached our destination, the final confluence dance had us at the exact spot to give my GPS those perfect figures.

With photos in hand, it was a pleasant walk back to the car and on to view the Madura limestone cave as head headed back to Madura and then further west to yet another confluence.
