02-Sep-2009 -- This Confluence is located about 20 km north of Zinder, it lies about 3.5 km east of the road linking Zinder to Tanout. The point is situated in the middle of the fields.

Coming from Zinder, the best way seems to be on the road to Tanout, 13 km after the blue water tower of Zinder, to leave the road to the East at the "Goal" advert signboard, then navigate with the GPS to find the best oriented track to the point.

After leaving the main road, it was quite complicated to reach this point because all the fields were cultivated - the season to cultivate fields lasts only 2 or 3 months - so it was not possible to go straight to the point with the 4x4 I had. I had to go through a labyrinth of really small tracks to reach that point. I drove until getting the closest I could - 200 m from the point - then I walked for that small distance. Regarding the quantity of cultivated fields, I didn't expect to arrive so close with the car.

In the surroundings I crossed many nice small villages with houses made of mud and some granaries made of mud and/or straw.

I got the opportunity to realise this Confluence because I was working for my company near the Zinder raffinery. I am a land surveyor, that should explain my interest in the Degree Confluence Project!
