  32°N 85°W (visit #2) (incomplete)

(visited by Matt Cavagnaro and Matthew Dunn)

06-Jul-2002 -- This narrative is continued from 31N85W.

9:20 am - We headed northbound just Georgia-side of the Alabama border, getting into some steep terrain, pretty far south.

The first visitor drove right up to this confluence, and so we didn't see this one as a major obstacle, until we got there.

We got within 2 miles of the confluence on paved roads, after which we turned onto a dark red clay road, and got within a mile of the spot, before the sand was too deep for the car to get any further.

We got out and found a decent trail, and we got within 600 meters of the point, until we started getting into some real deep canyons. This defintely wasn't the approach the first visitor got to the spot from.

After about half an hour of climbing and descending, we were still 400 meters from the confluence. It was defintely reachable from this direction, but it would have taken way too long, and we had more confluences to get to. We chalked this one as an attempt, and headed east.
