12-Sep-2026 -- A trip to Crete for two West African drumming workshops, one in Tertsa, and other other in Paleochora, afforded me the chance to visit this confluence. It added about one hour to my drive from one location to the other.
As indicated by other visitors, the confluence is south of the village of Vagionia and is situated in an olive grove. I drove as close as I could on rough gravel roads using my GPS. Then I parked and walked for 5-10 minutes over slightly uneven, stony ground to the confluence. I managed to zero the co-ordinates with little effort. It was a hot day, so I looked around briefly, took the required photos, and then returned to the car.
I continued north on the gravel road, which took me through Vagionia and then on to the main road, where I continued my trip.
I would recommend socks and shoes for this confluence visit due to the abundance of dry ankle-high grass.
