20-Feb-1996 -- I've managed a trip to my first Degree Confluence! It was an exciting trip, plagued with GPS (global positioning system) problems due to cheap batteries. Peter Cline and I bicycled 10 miles and walked one more through the woods to a nondescript spot by a swamp. We kept expecting there to be a monument at any location saying "43N/72W" but no such luck.
