07-Jun-2014 -- While driving on US Highway 2 from Kalispell to Libby (Kootenay Falls), I made a short detour to visit this confluence point.
My GPS receiver's routing software directed me to the point in a round-about way: it took me south on "Thompson River Road" for several miles, then connected to "ACM Road" to backtrack north for several miles. Instead, it turned out, a much shorter route is to take "Lang Creek Road" to "ACM Road". So, a note for future visitors: Ignore your GPS routing software; instead, turn off US Highway 2 at [48.02309,-115.01278].
ACM Road passes 0.11 miles west of the confluence point, which lies within a forest. After crossing a barbed-wire fence, it was an easy hike to the confluence point. Getting 'all zeros', however, was frustrating, because I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes as I wandered around, doing the 'confluence dance'.
Near the confluence points, several of the trees were tagged with plastic ribbons saying "Streamside Management Zone". I'm not sure of the significance of this, but the fact that I saw these tags only near the confluence point is probably no coincidence.
