12-Aug-2009 -- After the disappointed incompleted confluence point the day before (60N 129W) I was intend to complete this point today.
The closed starting point is from Alaska Hwy and then parallel to small group of lakes. Because the ground was already wet and swampy around the stream that came from the lakes, I decided to bush-walk in the forest - about 50m parallel to the stream. It was a hard climb-walk through all the fallen trees, but luckily I found an old trail. It was heading more or less to my confluence point. For a short distance I lost the trail again because of overgrowing. At the end this old trail took my nearly 30m to the confluence point.
Because of the millions of bugs around here I quickly took all photos. This time I hiked back the whole trail. At some points the way came very close to the lakes. It turned out that several beaver lodges were located in the lakes.
Now as I writing these lines back in Germany I discovered that my predecessors had to contend with exactly the same problems.
But none the less it was again a pleasant experience.
