26-Aug-2012 -- This is the second visit of the day on my flight from the arctic ocean back to Yellowknife.
It was getting cloudier on the way south but still sunny and warm. The tundra was beautiful turning into fall colors.
The area is very gently rolling terrain with large and small lakes. The ground is sandy eskers and rocks deposited in the ice ages. Vegetation is typical northern tundra, nothing is higher than half a meter. Lots of berries are becoming ripe now, the sweetest are blueberries.
