25-Feb-2005 -- A nice way to finish a two-week winter vacation!
We had made visits to confluences on St Lucia, Grenada and Margarita Island (Venezuela) while on an 11-day cruise on Royal Caribbean's Empress of the Seas.
The ship got back to San Juan, PT early in the morning, while our flight back to Norway via Newark would leave the next day. We therefore rented a car, and went for a sightseeing trip, which included the amazing road number 15 across the central mountains. This road is so narrow and has so many curves that the speed limit is just 20 miles/hour!
Once we got to the south side of the island it was easy to follow road 3 east until we got to Patillas, and after just one wrong attempt we found the correct road which lead directly to the villa with the confluence point in its garden. :-)
Since the previous visitors had already been able to enter the garden and document the exact spot, we decided that we didn't need to bother the owners by asking for permission to make another trip onto their property: 30 m was close enough!
On the way back to San Juan we decided to follow the highways: This was quite a bit longer, but definitely faster than road 15!
