24-Apr-2005 -- This Confluence is on the farm 'Noupoort' off the C10 towards Ais Ais. The farm is owned by Dr. Philip de Villiers and on arrival, we were given permission by his wife to find the point.
The Confluence is 10 km as the crow flies from the main road, so using the 'navigate to' function of the GPS, we followed a farm road for about 4 km before deciding to go off-road, cutting a path through the bush and dry river bed. As we approached the Confluence we came across an old track, which took us to within a few 100 m of the point. From here we continued by car to the exact spot and recorded the find, marking the spot with some rocks.
Locating a Confluence was a first for all of us and a fun detour on route to the Ais Ais hot springs. The point has spectacular views in all directions and is well worth the visit. We followed the old track back to the farmhouse and main road. It is recommended that any subsequent visitors use this track. It's a short detour, but Philip will be able to describe it in detail.
