Approaching the Sabhā-Sardalīs-Ġāt hardtop road after three nights camping in the desert since leaving Ġadāmis, the group in a convoy of Toyota landcruiers passed within 9 km (26:03N+10:56E) of confluence 26N 11E at 10:30-45 on 9 April 2005. It was around here that we descended from the last erg onto a broken rock plain leading in c. 25 km to the hardtop road. Brown-necked Ravens were present in the dunes.
