#1: Looking towards the CP, which is just over this rocky fence

(visited by Peter Thompson)

26-Apr-2005 -- Continued from 41N 27E.

Having been to the ANZAC Day services and spending the night in the Troy area, I decided to go to one more CP on my way to meet up with Berkant in İzmir. This CP was again close to a road, less than a kilometre into the bush. I think I took a different path to Roman Winkler, as I mainly walked in farm tracks from the car to the point.

I walked down the track that I parked the car on, which was 600 m south of the CP. At about the 300 m mark, the track forks left and right with the CP in the middle. I took the lower track to the left, which follows along a fence with the CP on the right and up a hill. At the 100-metre mark I had to leave the track and go straight towards the CP. On the way I came across a tortoise and while I was taking this photo I also came across a nice large brown snake, not sure what type it was, but I was on the lookout for snakes from that time on.

I found the CP to be just (2 metres) on the other side of a small fence made from sticks and brambles, but I was able to climb over on a rocky area. From the CP you can see mining activity, the creek that Roman was talking about, and the highway. All in all a nice quick CP visit only delaying me by about 45 mins. Now on to see Berkant and to try and get to a virgin CP: 37N 29E.
