28-Aug-2005 -- This confluence is actually not so far away from a big street (Rv. 30) in Trøndelag between Støren and Røros and I thought often about a trip uphill to the point when I passed Gauldalen during the last months.
But then, the visit to 63°N 11°N became a really spontaneous trip. It was friday evening and I planed a small cabin-trip with my girlfriend, when I saw suddenly, that our cabin was located just 2.8 km away from the confluence! The sports club of NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim) owns 23 cabins around Trondheim; Mortenskåten, the one we visited, is one of them.
We did our confluence-trip on sunday in nice weather conditions and crossed the typical moor-landscape of Trøndelag on our way. The spot was easy to reach, there are no steep mountain sides and you get a nice view over Gauldalen. We took a break at the confluence, ate something and took the usual pictures from the area. Our way back to the cabin was a nice walk over Mortenfjellet, 840m, the mountain just above the confluence, where we found quite a lot of "Multe" (Cloudberries), a delicious kind of berries.
