25-Sep-2005 -- ESTRENANDO CACERÍA EN RIO NEGRO

Aprovechando los recorridos habituales de mi trabajo, esta vez llegaría por el sur a Pichi Mahuida, la cabecera del Acueducto del Río Colorado, con el objeto de intentar la 3965.

El Earth Google ahora permite inferir las dificultades importantes, de modo que ésta no parecía muy compleja de obtener a juzgar por las fotos satelitales.

Desde la ruta nacional 22, casi sobre el meridiano 65, sale un camino hacia el norte lleno de tranqueras, que recorrí hasta llegar a la traza de un gasoducto, la cual me permitió llegar casi hasta el meridiano, siguiéndolo hacia el oeste. Allí torcí hacia el norte bordeando alambrados y abriendo tranqueras hasta el paralelo 39, donde me ubiqué con la camioneta a escasos 250 metros de la confluencia. Salté el alambrado y rápidamente logré el objetivo: mi primer confluencia rionegrina.

El lugar es el típico desierto patagónico con jarillas y coirones donde sólo se practica ganadería. Hacia el NO se alcanzaban a divisar algunas construcciones propias del campo, posiblemente la Estancia “Los Olmos”

Al regreso, seguí hacia el este por una picada muy cerca del paralelo 39, que me devolvió al camino que me llevó a Pichi Mahuida.

25-Sep-2005 -- FIRST CATCHING IN RIO NEGRO PROVINCE

In my habitual work’s trips, this time I would arrive to Pichi Mahuida, head of Rio Colorado Aqueduct, by the south, with the purpose of attempting the DC 3965.

Now, Earth Google allows the detection the most important obstacles. The observation of satellital photographs didn’t reveal anything as impossible.

From the route 22, practically on the meridian 65, a path plenty of gates run to the north . I took it until a gas pipeline that allowed me to arrive near the meridian from direction east. There, I turned to the north driving along a fence and crossing some gates to finally park the vehicle on the parallel 39 at 250 meters of the confluence.

I jumped the fence and I reached my target quickly: the S 39° W 65°, my first confluence in Rio Negro province.

The place is the typical landscape of the Patagonian desert with “jarillas” and “coirones” where only some cattle survive. To the NW some small constructions appears in the horizon, probably they belong to Estancia Los Olmos.

Then, I followed a track near the parallel 39 which took me back to the previous path to Pichi Mahuida
