01-Oct-2005 -- Soon after I bought my GPS I found out about the confluence project. I thought it would be a fun thing to do so on a sunny afternoon, on a spur of the moment, I decided to go and find the closest confluent point to my home (Red Cliffs).
My daughter was keen on exploring so we hopped in our 4WD and headed to New South Wales. After driving for about 40 minutes, we veered onto a dirt track and as soon as we got to exactly 142 degrees, I parked the vehicle and went on foot. We walked for about a kilometre and a half in some prickly weeds, encountered a few blue tongue lizards and squillions of flies. The spot was easy to find, in some grazing land. We hope to visit many more confluents next year when we go on a big adventure around Australia.
