08-Oct-2005 -- Saímos de São Mateus às 06:00hs do dia 08/10/05, eu Luiz Alber Lemos e dois amigos Leandro Kabke Wally e Paulo Therense Villas Bôas (Foto 006–Equipe) viajamos por 76Km de rodovias asfaltadas até chegarmos à Pinheiros-ES.

Entramos por estradas de fazendas em direção à Ecoporanga-ES. Este trecho da viagem não foi planejado no GPS, pois no Guia 4 rodas a estrada parecia estar bem demarcada. (Lição aprendida desta expedição: Não confie totalmente no Guia 4 rodas). No local as coisas estavam bem diferentes do Guia.

Seguimos em frente e em muitas bifurcações escolhemos caminhos orientados apenas pela direção no GPS. Chegamos em São João do Sobrado-ES onde um homem nos passou informação errada e nos tirou do caminho principal. Viajamos por estradas secundárias até encontrarmos um caminhão de coleta de leite, cujo motorista e co-piloto foram gentis e solidários, dando as referências necessárias para sairmos daquele labirinto de estradinhas e bifurcações, através de vilarejos como Itamira, Estrela do Norte, Itapeba e Jassaúba, até chegar em Ecoporanga. Neste trecho da viagem encontramos várias paisagens interessantes (Foto 007-Estrada da fazenda).

A partir de Ecoporanga-ES o caminho estava planejado no GPS e bateu perfeitamente com a realidade. Passamos por várias estradas de fazendas (péssimas por sinal) onde avistamos várias paisagens dignas de registro (foto 008-Paisagem) até chegarmos nas proximidades do ponto, próximo da cidade de Ataléia, no estado de Minas Gerais.

O final do trajeto foi percorrido a pé por aproximadamente 1km em um trecho de pastagens com pequenos trechos de vegetação de cerrado e pequenos arbustos, dentre eles muitos espinheiros conhecidos como “arranha-gato”. Depois de atravessar um pequeno córrego e fazer uma caminhada de aproximadamente 50m pela lateral íngreme de um rochedo, alcançamos a confluência exata.

O local (foto 003-ponto e 005-GPS) é exatamente sob uma moita de “arranha-gato” com aproximadamente 5m de diâmetro em um local muito íngreme, de onde avistamos belas paisagens nas direções sul, leste e oeste (fotos 002-Sul, 001-Leste e 004-Oeste). Na direção Norte, morro acima, avistamos somente a vegetação de cerrado (foto 003-ponto).

08-Oct-2005 -- We left São Mateus at 06 o'clock: on 08/10/05, me Luiz Alber Lemos and two friends Leandro Kabke and Paulo Therense Villas Bôas (Photo 006-Equipe) and we traveled for 76Km of highways asphalted to we arrive to Pinheiros (state of Espírito Santo).

We entered for small roads of farms in direction to Ecoporanga, in the state of Espírito Santo. This part of the trip was not planned in GPS, because in the Guia 4 Rodas (a brazilian travel guide) the road seemed to be well demarcated. (Learned lesson of this expedition: Don't totally trust the Guia 4 Rodas). At this place the things were very different from the guide.

We went straight ahead and in many bifurcations chose roads just guided by the direction in GPS. We arrived in São João do Sobrado where a man passed us wrong information and it removed us of the main road. We traveled for secondary roads until we find a truck of collection of milk, whose driver and copilot were gentile and solidary, giving us the necessary references to leave that labyrinth of roads and bifurcations, through villages as Itamira, Estrela do Norte, Itapeba and Jassaúba, until arriving in Ecoporanga. There we found several interesting landscapes (Photo 007-Estrada da fazenda).

Starting from Ecoporanga the road was planned in GPS and it beat perfectly with the reality. We went by several roads of farms (terrible for sign) where we sighted several landscapes worthy of registration (photo 008-Paisagem) until we arrive near the point, close of the city of Ataléia, in the state of Minas Gerais.

At the end of the itinerary we wlaked on foot for approximately 1km in a pasture space with vegetation of closed and small bushes, among of them many of a thorny bush well-known in Brazil as " scratch-cat ". After crossing a small stream and walking of approximately 50m on a very steep rock, we reached the exact confluence point.

The place (photo 003-ponto and 005-GPS) it is exactly under a “scratch-cat " brush with approximately 5m of diameter in a very steep place, from where we sighted beautiful landscapes in the directions south, east and west (photos 002-Sul, 001-Leste and 004-Oeste). In the North direction, hill above, we sighted only the vegetation of closed brushes (photo 003-ponto).
