(visited by Choijilsuren Damiran and Gantulga, Tumendemberel)

09-Jan-2006 -- I have worked in Govisumber and Dornogovi aimags from 3-th until 15-th of January 2006 for assessment of some water points where will be installed small scale irrigation equipments by Tacis project. Pretext of official work I planed to visit some confluence points which are not far from road. These points will be estimated as first visited confluences in Dornogovi aimag. Our team consisted of 3 members: Dornogovi aimag’s AEK manager Gantulga, driver Tumendemberel and me.

We finished our work in Ixxet soum 8-th afternoon at round 17 a clock. It was late for trip to another soum (Altanshiree soum) visiting point on the way. “Unfortunately” 50 m from hotel where we were staying this day we met with Gantulga’s friend who insisted us to visit to his home to stay over night and we followed him. On the 9-th in the morning at 9 a clock we moved to Altanshiree soum. With us enjoyed local AEC adviser Mr. Maixant until he’s home (around 17 km to the south west from soum centre).

In Maixant’s ger he organized lunch and it took a hour. The confluence was about 27km to the south from here and 11 km away from road to Altanshiree soum centre. Hunting wasn’t difficult. Passing some Gobi’s hells and Point is in the middle of even land without any vegetation. When we continued our way to Altanshiree 200-500 m from the point the earth was scattered with interesting colored stones .

It was first visit of the confluence in Dornogovi aimag.
