#1: At the confluence looking north. This is Yak country.

(visited by Robert Ayers and Michael Schroeder)

22-May-2006 -- The confluence 31N 91E is north of the east end of the huge Tibetan lake Nam-Tso ("Sky Lake"). It is on the Tibetan high plateau, in treeless Yak-grazing country. After visiting the lake, we backtracked to the village of Namtso and headed north in our LandCruiser on a dirt track that leaves the pavement just lake-ward of the village. Following a GPS course, we made a couple of fork-choices and drove (on a track) through one swampy area and got to about 2 km from the confluence. We turned off-road and got to within 600 meters and walked that short distance. At the exact location of the confluence, we found a small cairn.
