04-Jul-2006 -- Like Shawn Fleming, I had a reasonably high-clearance vehicle (a SUV), and so was able to drive directly to the confluence, which lies on a flat, sandy desert plain, filled with sparse, low-growing scrub. Off of route 159 (north of Garrison), I found a double-track dirt road at [38.98519,-114.03422]; this road passes just 0.5 miles from the confluence point. From there, you can drive (or hike) to the confluence point, which is marked by a small rock cairn left by a previous visitor.
