17-Sep-2006 -- It was the nearest confluence to our home, just 20 Km far so we decided to pay a visit to it.
It was a little hazy that day and was perfect for the kids to see a pistaccio plantation. We followed the main road from Athens to Rafina (Marathonos avenue) and turned to the right when we reached Loutsa (aka Artemis) intersection. We passed a narrow bridge and headed to the sea. Awful sight of burnt down forest was ahead and we felt anger for those who did this terrible thing. Soon we entered cultivated fields zone, there were grapes, pistaccio and olive trees.
We left the car on the main road and walked the last 150m to the exact point. There was a dead fox next to the confluence which can be seen on a photo and was the first anatomy lesson for the kids! The confluence was located right under a pistaccio tree canopy, although we searched a fig-tree as instructed by previous visitors we didn't find any all-around the area.
We hope that the confluences that await our visit shall be as easy to reach as this one was.
