06-Sep-2006 -- Travelling South from NW Russia and Northern Norway this would be the last visit to a confluence point on this journey. The point was only a couple of kilometers from the road and involved only walking through somebody's backyard and continuing over a couple of fences and then proceeding over some drainage ditches and some fields. The fields were wet and heavy to walk in. Besides, the last crop of grass for the autumn had not been harvested yet, so I could not just trot through the fields in a straight line.
Getting there in the autumn with the occassional flock of migrating birds heading south, a hawk hovering at the edge of the forest and otherwisde all quiet. Near the actual point was a dilapidated old storage building for hay.
Walking back I found a small boat at the outskirts if the fields. How on earth did that get there, far away from the water?
