28-May-2007 -- After successful visit to two CPs yesterday, 28N 69E and 30N 71E, we stayed overnight in Multan. As per plan our next destination was 31N 72E. So we started our journey early morning at about 6-40am by our Parado jeep. We reached Shorkot, which is 110 kms from Multan, in about two hours. We were on left bank of river Chenab and this CP was on right side of the river. So we were supposed to cross the river Chenab Trimmu which was at about 50 kms from Shorkot and then again drive back to CP. But we decided to make this visit adventurous and decided to cross the river by boat at Garh Maharaja patan. When we reached the boat station we were shaken for a while to load our jeep on the boat. But the boat operator encouraged us and told that he has been taking these type of jeeps in past too. Our jeep driver Ayoob very professionally loaded the jeep on boat using thin planks as ramp that can be seen in the pictures. We crossed the river on that wooden boat with our jeep and other passengers on the boat. So the river crossing was really a great adventure. From right bank of river we drove to confluence point and it was not very difficult to reach the CP passing thru small villages. The point was in a cultivated agricultural land. After reaching the CP we took the necessary photographs and celebrated our successful visit. We started our onward journey and reached Islamabad at 5-30pm.So this was a great trip as we successfully visited three CPs in two days.
