04-Jul-2007 -- Havøysund is the stepping stone for going to Rolvsøy where you find this confluence point. A catamaran leaves in the morning and returns in the afternoon.

The weather was great; sunshine, a light breeze and about 18 centigrades. The boat landed on the east coast of the island. From there it was about 6 km to the confluence point. The island has about 50 - 60 permanent inhabitants. It also has a small B & B which this summer was full with workers building a fish processing plant.

It seemed as if one from every family were at the arrival or in the local shop where they received mail and whatever they needed. From there it was easy to get a lift on the road towards Tufjord, the largest community on the western side of the island.

The confluence point is about half way from the jetty at Gunnarnes to Tufjord. From the road it is about 600 m to go. The sun was warm and climbing through the soft moss and heather resulted in a slow climb of about 150 m up.

At the arrival I found a small build up of stones with a plank stating 71/24. It was about 6 - 7 meters off the exact point according to my GPS. I later found that it had been put there by local people.

The first visitor to the confluence point, back in 2001, has still not submitted a full narrative report, nor a GPS registration.
