10-Jun-2007 -- Desde el 19 de abril cuando Hector, Eva y yo (Rosalda), visitamos el PC N11 W71 , quedamos de acuerdo en planificar la cacería de N10 W72 ubicada en Barranquitas, pueblo pesquero ubicado a 170 km al sur de Maracaibo. El día 9 de junio salimos de Barquisimeto, Eva y Yo (Rosalda) rumbo a la ciudad de Maracaibo para al día siguiente (10 de junio) encontrarnos con Héctor y salir en busca del PC. Partimos de Maracaibo a las 8:30 am tomando la carretera Troncal 6, también conocida como la Machiques-Colón, que une Maracaibo con la población de La Fría en el Estado Táchira, a la altura del kilómetro 104, entre las poblaciones de La Villa del Rosario y Machiques, en un sector denominado Guadalajara nos desviamos hacia el este tomando una vía parcialmente pavimentada que nos conduciría hasta Barranquitas.

Por esta vía recorrimos unos 55 Km, pasando por pequeños poblados tales como Villa Vieja, San Ignacio y Sartanejo, zonas de intensa actividad ganadera con relieve plano y algunas ciénegas al borde de la carretera donde se puede apreciar gran variedad aves acuáticas propias de pantano.

Llegamos a Barranquitas a las 11:10 am, este poblado es netamente pesquero y los cangrejos de esta zona son muy apreciados en Europa y Norteamérica a donde se exporta el 90 % de su producción; una vez en el pueblo donde nos dirigimos al muelle de los pescadores, en donde contactamos a José Solórzano y su hermano Lipson, quienes se dedican a la pesca de cangrejos y en ese momento estaban preparando los aparejos para la faena de pesca del día siguiente. Acordamos con ellos la travesía y después de preparar su lancha Lipson-Jose II, nos llevaron por el lago de Maracaibo con un día nublado y aguas muy tranquilas, afortunadamente no llovió y en poco menos de 10 minutos estábamos haciendo con la lancha, la danza de la confluencia para conseguir los ceros en nuestros receptores, cosa que no se logró completamente, sin embargo alcanzamos una muy buena aproximación de 3 metros a las 12:14 pm. El punto de confluencia se encuentra a 4 km aproximadamente de este muelle.

Una vez logrado nuestro objetivo observamos que en dirección sureste y a unos 3,5 km se veía una plataforma petrolera, lugar al cual José gentilmente se ofreció a llevarnos y en donde pudimos apreciar de cerca estas facilidades de la industria petrolera, luego de lo cual dimos un giro y enfilando la lancha en dirección oeste iniciamos el regreso a la costa en Barranquitas, para concluir así nuestra primera cacería acuática; al llegar al muelle celebramos con bebidas hidratantes y emprendimos el regreso hacia Maracaibo.

10-Jun-2007 -- Since April 19, when Hector, Eva and me (Rosalda) visit the PC N11 W71, we agree in planning the hunt of N10 W72 located in Barranquitas, fishing town located to 170 km to the south of Maracaibo. The day June 9 leave Barquisimeto, Eva and Me (Rosalda) heading for Maracaibo city for next day (June 10) to meet with Héctor and to leave in search of the PC. We leave from Maracaibo to the 8:30 am taking the highway Troncal 6, also well-known as the Machiques-Colon that link Maracaibo with La Fria town, located in the State Táchira, to the height of the kilometer 104, between the populations of the Villa del Rosario and Machiques, in Guadalajara village stray toward the east taking a partially paved road that it would drive us until Barranquitas.

For this road we traveled about 55 Kms, going by small such towns as Villa Vieja, San Ignacio and Sartanejo, intense cattle activity areas, with plane relief and some ciénegas on the edge of the highway where you can appreciate great variety aquatic birds characteristic of swamp.

We arrive to Barranquitas to the 11:10 am, this town is highly fishing and the crabs of this area are very appreciated in Europe and North America to where 90% of its production is exported; once in the town where we go to the fishermen’s jetty where we contact José Solórzano and his brother Lipson who are devoted to the fishing of crabs and in that moment they were preparing the apparels for the next day fishing task. We agree with them the ride and after preparing their boat Lipson-José II, they took us for the lake of Maracaibo with a cloudy day and very calm, water, fortunately it didn't rain and in little less than 10 minutes were making with the boat, the confluence dance to get the zeros in our receivers, thing that was not achieved completely, however reaches a very good approach of 3 meters to the 12:14 pm. The PC is approximately to 4 km of this jetty.

Once achieved our objective observes at the southeast and to about 3,5 kms an oil platform, José kindly offered to take us there and we could appreciate these facilities of the petroleum industry closely, after that we gave a turn and heading the boat in bearing west we begin the return to the coast in Barranquitas, to conclude this way our aquatic hunt; when arriving to the jetty we take place with cold drinks and we undertook the return toward Maracaibo.
