17-Jun-2007 -- Cheryl and I were en route from our home in Virginia to a square dance festival in Milwaukee and taking a few extra days to do some sightseeing. That included a short trip from Detroit into Canada for some geodashing and a visit to this confluence at 43N 82W. This was my first confluence visit in Canada.
The confluence is about 20 miles east of Sarnia where we intended to cross the border back to the US. Like the previous visitors, we stopped first at the farm house on Egremont Road to ask permission to go into his field. He was quite friendly and chatted with us for a short time about our mission. He noted my Virginia plates and asked why I was so far from home. He also told us that we could drive out into the field on his service road. We did so and stopped about 10 meters west of the dashpoint. I stepped carefully across the several rows of soy beans now 5 or 6 inches high to get zeros on my GPSr (photo #5) and take pictures in the four compass directions. Photo #1 shows the view to the north back towards the owner’s farm yard and the service road we followed to reach the confluence point. Photo #2 to the east shows lots of young soy bean plants. Photo #3 to the west looks across the service road back toward Highway 21 near the telephone pole and photo #4 is the view to the south.
