15-Sep-2007 -- We knew this confluence was near our cabin in Cold Springs, CA but never had the time, the weather conditions (or remembered) to go hunt for it. We chose the first day of hunting season up there (not on purpose) so while trekking through the woods we would occasionally shout "We're not deers!" so the hunters wouldn't shoot us. Thanks to the trail system and lots of dirt roads, we were able to get to within 0.25 miles of the spot by car (4x4). Took the dog, who was so happy to get out of the car after bouncing all over those mountains. Beautiful weather too. The confluence was just under 12 miles from our cabin but it took a good 4 hours to get in and out of the area from the main highway.
