12-Jan-2008 -- After travelling long distances a couple of weeks ago for some confluences in outback NSW, I decided this morning to go and have a look at the closest confluence to my home in Echuca, Victoria which is just 35km away near Barmah on the Victorian side of the Murray River.
I couldn’t rustle up any interest from my wife and kids so I brought my dog (Jed) along with me for his first confluence visit.
Coming from Echuca, I crossed the border into NSW at Moama, drove up the Cobb Highway for about 15 km and then took the turn-off to Barmah. I crossed back into Victoria at Barmah and headed out on Barmah Bridge Road for about 2 km and then took a left turn on an unnamed track a few hundred metres after crossing a bridge over a creek. The confluence is located close to the intersection of this track and Myers Lane.
Jed and I slipped ourselves under the fence and then walked about 100 metres to the confluence. The paddock looks to have been cut for hay some time ago.
