23-Apr-2005 -- We tried reaching this confluence point on a day-trip from Masqaṭ via the same route as previous attempts.

After a few hours trekking in the gorge it was clear that the point was in fact on the plateau above and could not be reached from the gorge. Very nice hike, though!
