25-Jul-2009 -- This is the 77th of a series of 83 confluence visits during our voyage from Nigeria to Europe and back to Nigeria around the entire African continent. It all started on 28 January 2008 at 11N 5E.
Story continues from 18S 16E.
We had spent the night at Khorixas and took now for the next 10 km the road leading to Outio; then there is the turnoff onto the C35 leading to Kamanjab.
After 50 km the road bypasses the Confluence by 1.35 km. In its vicinity there is a sign indicating some war graves. The gate was not closed and we managed to get as close as 200 meters to the Confluence. However, this was only possible with an all road vehicle.
