English Narrative

16-Aug-2009 -- This weekend my family and I went to San Rafael (250 km away from San Martin) down the road of Ñacuñán, passing 2,8km far from the 34s 68w which I’ll visit with more time at anytime.

In my way back home, I went through the 143 and 40 National Roads with the intention of passing near the 34s 69w. In Pareditas, I found a farm which appeared to be the appropriated way to go near the confluence, however; I didn’t find anybody there, just a padlocked gate.

Searching the parallel 69, I found garlic corps and soon I met the person in charge of the farm. To my surprise the owner of the farm turned out to be not only a colleague but also a friend of mine, Ivan Perabó. We shared an apartment in Mendoza when we were students; 30 years have passed now.

I was about 1,800 meters from the confluence and I thought it was and absurdity not to reach it. My wife and daughter, Vilma and Patricia, stayed in the car and I went through the scrubland to complete this adventure. I took my GPS, camera, and cellphone which I lost when I jumped the firs wire fence; luckily I found it when I went back to the car. At the 800 meters I crossed the road which came from closed farm, there were tire tracks and I thought I could have saved time by doing it by car. It took me approximately an hour to reach the place, take pictures and go back to the car, but it was worth a try!!!
