#1: View of Confluence

(visited by Alan Edwards, Sue Edwards and Ali Hamadan Mokhtar)

05-Nov-2009 -- We visited this Confluence at the beginning of a desert trip to Libya (our first time in this country). We had plans to visit other zeros, but unfortunately they all fell through.

We had a fantastic 15 days in the desert with our Touareg companions: guide Ali Hamadan Mokhtar, guide/driver Al Mabrouk Adhan, driver Alagwi Ali Alagui, and our cook Essa Mohammed. From Sabhā through al-Kufra to al-`Uwaynāt, back via Wāw al-Nāmūs volcano (Wow!) to Awbārī lakes, and finally to Tripoli and Leptis Magna. Fortified along the way by their frothing sweet green tea, we had a memorable time.
