12-Sep-2010 -- I knew - based on the reports from previous visitors - that this was going to be a tough confluence point to visit, but it was even tougher than I'd expected.
I'd rate this as one of the most strenuous of my many confluence visits - comparable to [38,-108] in Colorado.
Part of the reason why I found this visit so strenuous is that I ended up taking the wrong turnoff from Hackstaff Road.
Rather than taking Homestead Road from the west - as most other visitors had done - I ended up taking another dirt road that approached the confluence point from the southwest.
This road took me within 1.4 miles of the confluence point, but was about 1700 feet lower in elevation, so I had a very steep climb to get to the confluence point, which is at about 6228 feet above sea level.
