19-Feb-2011 -- Welcome to Finland after two nights on a ferry from Rostock, Germany via Gdynia, Poland. We started our journey on Thursday afternoon with just a few degrees Celsius below zero and were welcomed in Helsinki at minus 22 °C on a sunny Saturday morning. We love it!

On our way north we plan to visit several confluences and will start with the first one just today. After a good two hours drive we arrived a farm house nearby the confluence and hooked up. We decided to use our brand new snowshoes not knowing how we will manage it. Well it feels quite easy to handle and we made a fast approach first in parallel with ski tracks but soon we had to enter the forest creating our own unique trail.

Finding the spot was easy all in all a nice beginning for our tour.
