02-Jun-2011 -- Sitting in Fredericton with a few hours to spare what better way to pass the time than to go wallowing around in the bush in sandals in the rain and grab a CP. So off I went.

After a quick look at the large puddles on the forest track I parked beside the 615 and walked in. Stepping rather carefully around the puddles on the way in - I was less fussy later when wet up to my knees. After 300 metres I looked out for a track to the left which should go close to the point - I had seen this on google earth but on the ground it didn't seem to be there. I walked on a bit but no sign. I should have remembered the map better and walked on down the track another 200 metres - that might have saved me a lot of bushwacking. Instead I returned to the closest point (450 metres) and set off into the woods.

The terrain was quite flat and mostly wooded with many very rotten branches. Under foot varied from dry dead leaves to swamp - I managed to avoid the latter for quite a while but eventually I ended up paddling in places. There were signs indicating that the area is a shooting range but nobody was out today - I heard one big animal - moose or deer maybe - but couldn't see it.

As stated by the first visitors, the CP lies in an open area so it was not difficult to get the zeroes lined up and take the photos. Mosquitoes and rain discouraged me from hanging around and I was back in car 75 minutes after leaving it. Job done.
