21-Feb-2011 -- We started to our first confluence after a good sleep in Hotelli Lasaretti near the shore of the river Oulu and a very good typical Finnish breakfast. We followed several smaller country roads and ended up on a small road used for transportation of wood. Fortunately we found a small “parking lot” near a clearing where we entered the wood to finish the approach. The forest wasn’t that high, so reception of the GPS signal was good at all times and we could follow a corridor almost all time. At the end we, again, stood surrounded by trees which seems to be quite common for Finland. The signal travelled so it was difficult to spot exactly 65N / 26E. On our way back we enjoyed the bright sunshine, the reflections in the trees and of the snow and numerous animal tracks we indicated some of them as hare and snow bird tracks, others unknown to us.
