Starting at 10 a.m. we went by car from our home in Upper Austria heading North, crossing the border to Lower Austria and driving along the Czech border. Passing by a castle and a lot of small villages finally we arrived Litschau, a city pretty close to the CP.
When we saw the golf course we knew that we had to turn around, because we already missed the way to the CP. At a tavern we left our car behind and started walking on a way through a wood. No cars allowed but signposts on trees showed us to be on the right way.
After half an hour walking we reached a stone marked as the "Meridian Stone" with an inscription of the coordinates. It seems to be from an official geological survey but our GPS device showed some deviation. Within 100 m we also found the point where our GPS showed the coordinates very precisely. We took pictures from both places just to be sure. Both points are inside a wood very close to a river which is the border to Czech Republic.
