19-Aug-2011 -- We had planned an offroading trip around the desert in Dubayy, heading out to Wādiy Ḥattā and back again, the night before the trip I checked to see if there were any confluence points in the area, luckily enough there was one just 30 km away from one of our waypoints. We had planned that if things went smoothly in the desert, we might have time to try and locate the confluence point.
At 12 p.m. we came out of the desert and onto the blacktop heading towards al-Malayḥa following the GPS towards 25N 56E, unfortunatley there is now a winding tarred road leading almost all the way to the confluence point, I was hoping for a bit more track and rocks.
Once we reached the Dam, the road ended and a gravel track began. We parked up as close to the confluence point as we could and walked the 60 metres till our GPS read 25°00.000'N 56°00.000'E.
The confluence point is very easy to locate and is situated on a little hill, there is also a geocache on this site.
This was the first of many confluence points I hope to reach.
