01-Apr-2012 -- With yet another Easter almost upon us, it was time to head back to the Riverland of South Australia for another great break. No 1 on the must do list this year was to head up through the Danggali Conservation Park and head out to this Confluence. With the help of the first visit back in 2003 by Mike Fretwell, we know that we must head in from the New South Wales side of the Border.

Once through the Border Gate, it was time to head south and yet through another gate. At the second gate that we had to pass through, there was a sign on the gate, and surprisingly it was only a “Domestic Goats – No Shooting”. Before going any further, Fiona advised me that we had a back flat tyre, so it was a very quick change and we were on our way south for a distance of only 1.6 kilometres to reach the Confluence.

With the metres counting down and expecting to reach the confluence as Mike did, the GPS swung to the west, still 160 metre from the Confluence. Stopping the car along side the State Border Fence, we climbed over the fence and made the short distance to reach the exact location of the Confluence. The only thing that I can say is that Mike’s images were not taken at the exact spot, but at the Border fence, 160 metres east of the true Confluence point.

What has made this Confluence visit more important to Fiona and I, it marks our 50^th successful Confluence visit. With all the correct images in hand, we headed further east and made our way back to Renmark, still a further 5 hours' drive away.

The demarcation line with New South Wales is passing about 185 m east of the Confluence.
