05-Jun-2012 -- This would be the eighth of twelve successful visits on a clockwise loop east of Colorado Springs continuing from 38N 98W and would be the fifth of seven on this day.
I thought these Kansas confluences were just a bit too easy. I discovered that this confluence was within a wheat field that was being harvested. I was able to park about 20 meters away. I could see large combines in an eschelon formation working the field about a half mile away. If only I was several hours or a day later, this point would have also been a zeroed out visit. Not wanting to delay, I took my pictures: the field to the north had already been harvested, and 19 meters into the amber waves of grain to the south was the elusive confluence point.
It had been 5 years since the last reported visit to this confluence. Onward to 38N 100W!
