03-Sep-2012 -- This was a very pleasant confluence visit. From the tiny town of Silver Lake in 'outback' Oregon, I headed south on highway 28 (otherwise known as East Bay Road), and then turned eastward on forest road 36. This road passes south of Hager Mountain - a prominent volcanic cone that dominates the area. I had planned to drive to the summit (with its fire lookout) before visiting the confluence point, but I found that the road to the summit was closed halfway up. So I continued on a series of gravel logging roads towards the confluence point, getting within 0.16 miles (north of the point). An easy hike through a thinly-spaced logged forest took me to the point. (The point lies within a small stand of trees, so I stepped a few feet away to take the four 'compass direction' photos.)
