25-Jul-2014 -- Three confluence points are located on the island of Sardinia, which is associated to Italy. During the summer holidays I took the chance to visit all of it. The first visit took place at the southern end of the island. The visited CP 39N 9E is located at the suburb of Pula, which is only 25 km away of Cagliari, the biggest city of Sardinia.
Coming from north I parked the car at the via Porrino, opposite the stadium "A.S.D. Calcio Pula". It was about 6 p.m., still very hot and very quiet in this residential area. By foot I took the Via G. Dessi and after about 110 m I was already in front of the house No. 14 with the CP on its area.
The GPS showed 10 m distance to the CP, which is located at the roof of a garage. The ramp down to the garage is seen on the picture of the location. I asked the landlord for access, but he quite strictly refused, even after explaining the background of the DCP project. Okay, so I did the pictures some meters away from his gate. The picture of GPS reading was done at a distance of 17 m to the CP. On my way back I walked around the block along Via G. Cima and saw the rear of the confluence house. At luck there is a building gap so that I could approach the CP up to 14 m.
So the visit was finished after only a few minutes and the trip continued west and northwest, along the coast, the next CP visit at 40N 9E already in mind.
