13-Oct-2014 -- Leaving the Flinders Highway in Pentland, we drive north towards the unvisited confluence 20°S 145°E. We manage to drive to it, following country roads and farm tracks but for 4 km.
Just after sunrise, in the relative cool of the morning, we try hiking the remaining 4 km but have to give it up half way through. The terrain is too bushy and soon it was going to be too hot for hiking. Northern Queensland was experiencing one of the hottest Octobers on record. During cooler times, the confluence ought to be easily reached by foot or even easier on a (quad-)bike.
