12-Авг-2015 -- Этот день был посвящён посещению точки с координатами 53°N 107°E. Это так называемая «водная точка», специально для реализации этого проекта, при поездке на о. Ольхон, в багажнике была надувная лодка. Свернув с дороги «Паром – п. Хужир» я направился в сторону побережья, в район небольшой бухты, откуда я планировал начать свой водной маршрут. Бухта оказалась очень уютной, с этой стороны о. Ольхон температура воды немного ниже и отдыхающих не было совсем. Пока накачивалась лодка, в бухту заплыла нерпа, немного поныряла и поплавала рядом. В вдоль берега постоянно плавала утка с утятами. Ближе к вечеру в бухту на водопой пришел табун лошадей.

Подготовившись к заплыву, я ещё раз оценил целесообразность данного мероприятия. Дело в том, что в течении августа горели леса вокруг оз. Байкал, густой дым окутал все побережье, видимость была крайне ограниченной и возможность сделать фотографии о. Ольхон с точки конфлюенции вызывала большое сомнения. Погода была тёплая, безветренная, волны не было совсем. Поэтому я решил выйти из бухты, проплыть вдоль берега и оценить свои возможности. Обогнув мыс, я направился к конфлюенции. На гребной лодке два километра до конфлюенции я преодолел примерно за 50 минут. Сделал снимок GPS и острова Ольхон в густом дыму и направился обратно. Для себя я решил, что в следующем году нужно будет снова повторить это путешествие и сделать нормальные фотографии.

12-Aug-2015 -- This day was devoted to visiting the point with coordinates 53°N 107°E. This is so-called “water point”. There was inflatable in the trunk, specifically for this project, when I planned a trip to Olkhon island. Having turned off the road from the ferry to Khuzhir settlement, I headed towards the coast, to the area of a small bay, where I planned to start my aquatic route. The bay was very comfortable, at that side of Olkhon the water temperature is a little lower and there were not any vacationers at all. While I pumped the boat, a nerpa [Baikal seal] swam into the bay, it dived a little and swam nearby. A duck with ducklings constantly swam along the coast. Later in the afternoon a herd of horses came in the bay coast for watering.

Having prepared for the float, I once again assessed the feasibility of the event. The fact is that during August there were a lot of burning forests around Baikal lake, thick smoke enveloped the entire coast, visibility was extremely limited and the ability to take photos of Olkhon from the confluence was in serious doubt. The weather was warm and windless, no any waves, the water was calm. So I decided to get out of the cove, to sail along the coast and to evaluate my potential. Rounding the cape, I headed for the confluence. It took me 50 minutes to overcome two kilometers up to the confluence on a rowing boat. I took pictures of GPS unit and Olkhon island in thick smoke and then headed back. For myself, I decided that the next year I will have to repeat this journey and make normal pictures.
