After I got the 12S 048W confluence at that day in the morning, I returned to my car and proceeded to the west in order to reach the asphalt road in an easier way because I suffered before with that bad road and the dust.
As I reached the asphalt road, I returned northeast to the city of Natividade and another 130 km southeast towards Taipas de Tocantins, with a long stretch on dirt roads. From there, it was another 43 km heading north and then west again, on farm roads, in order to approach the confluence 12S 047W. It was necessary to open several fences and gates and pass among the cattle that sometimes concentrated on the path. Less than 600m from CP it was possible to abandon the car and walk on the exact 12s latitude and waiting for the longitude to reach 47 degrees exactly. There were areas of field and vegetation, altered to raise cattle.
This time, it was pretty easy to get the pictures and easier to walk along the forest. Near the confluence, I observed the savanna called Cerradão that seems to be a low forest but deeply altered because the cattle walks inside all this area and in future will turn into a field with isolated trees.
Originally, the Cerradão (big savanna) is a forest formation with xeromorphic aspects, it is thinner and weaker than a normal forest. It is characterized by the presence of species that occur in the savanna and also by species of forest. From the physiognomic point of view it is a forest but floristically it is more similar to a savanna. In that area I was able to see more birds, maybe because the time of the day, with the temperature falling a little bit (32 C).
