08-May-2022 -- Wir umfahren das serbische Kernland und fahren von Montenegro über eine kleine Bergstraße zum Balotski Pass mit dem Grenzübergang „Kufiri Kosove Mali Zi“ direkt in den Kosovo. Wir durchqueren die Landschaft hinter den Bergen auf kleinen Straßen bis Mitrovice.

Wir hatten uns im Vorfeld nicht mit diesem CP befasst, da die ursprüngliche Reiseplanung keinen Besuch des Kosovo beinhaltete. Mobile Daten hatten wir nicht auf den eingesetzten Telefonen. Wir nutzten deshalb das Navigationsgerät. Laut dem Gerät können wir bis auf etwa tausend Meter an den CP heranfahren.

Das Gerät führt uns durch Ortschaften mit alten Bergwerken und Hüttenbetrieben immer höher in die Berge. Bei schönem Wetter kommen uns viele Autos mit Ausflüglern entgegen. Kurz vor dem Kamm gibt es einen Abzweig zu einem Hotel.

Es geht eine wunderbar ausgebaute Asphaltstraße direkt auf die Bergrücken auf denen große Windkraftwerke aufgestellt sind und es eine schöne Fernsicht gibt.

Unser GPS zeigt auf der Asphaltstraße an der nächsten Stelle zum CP 990 Meter Entfernung. Von einem für einen Abstieg günstigeren Parkplatz, mit einem Weg am Anfang, sind es 1270 Meter, allerdings auch mindestens 400 Höhenmeter hinab ins Tal.

Lange hadern wir mit unseren Launen. Die Sonne versinkt und wir verwerfen eine schnelle harte Aktion.

Richard ist für eine Anmeldung als Versuch, auch um späteren Besucher über die neuen Bedingungen zu Informieren. Hansen möchte sich nicht mit eintragen, baut auf einen zukünftigen Besuch.

Wir fahren zu dem Hotel an der Straße um am Morgen einen Besuch zu starten. Doch die haben einen Wasserschaden und wollen uns kein Zimmer geben. So beschließen wir weiter Richtung Pristina zu fahren und kurz vor der Stadt ein Quartier zu nehmen. Unsere Reise ist ja nicht nur eine CP Exkursion.

We bypass the Serbian heartland and drive from Montenegro over a small mountain road to the Balotski Pass with the border crossing "Kufiri Kosove Mali Zi" directly into Kosovo. We cross the countryside behind the mountains on small roads to Mitrovice.

We had not dealt with this CP in advance, as the original itinerary did not include a visit to Kosovo. We did not have mobile data on the phones we used. We therefore used the navigation device. According to the device, we can drive up to the CP for about a thousand metres.

The device leads us through villages with old mines and smelters higher and higher into the mountains. As the weather is nice, we meet many cars with excursionists. Shortly before the ridge there is a turn-off to a hotel.

A wonderfully constructed asphalt road leads directly to the mountain ridges where large wind turbines have been erected and there is a beautiful distant view.

Our GPS shows a distance of 990 metres on the asphalt road at the nearest point to the CP. From a car park more favourable for a descent, with a path at the beginning, it is 1270 metres, but also at least 400 metres of altitude down into the valley.

For a long time we struggle with our moods. The sun sinks and we discard a quick hard action.

Richard is in favour of signing in as a trial, also to inform later visitors about the new conditions. Hansen doesn't want to sign up, counting on a future visit.

We drive to the hotel on the road to start a visit in the morning. But they have damages by water that they won't give us a room.

So we decide to drive on in the direction of Pristina and find a place to stay just outside the city. After all, our trip is not just a CP exkursion.
