23-Jun-2022 -- After a mountain biking vacation in Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado, I started driving back towards my home in the San Francisco Bay Area. At the town of Rifle, Colorado, I made a detour North to visit this easy Degree Confluence Point, in ranchland near the town of Meeker.
Like the previous visitors, I parked on the side of the dirt access road, about 2/3 miles East of the point, and hiked from there. After waiting for a thunderstorm to pass, I crossed the barbed-wire fence (one of three that I climbed over along the way) and started hiking. To begin, I had to cross a small ravine, filled with sagebrush and small cactus. I then passed across a stretch of flat grassland, crossing two more small sagebrush-filled ravines along the way. The Degree Confluence Point lies in grassland, just West of one of these small ravines.
Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
