03-Aug-1999 -- While moving from Albany, NY, to Portland, OR, we decided
to visit a confluence in Kansas. This one seemed fairly close to the
Interstate, so we set out, navigating by GPS and a Rand McNally road
atlas. It was in the middle of a field. Herald advised against walking
through the field - we'd just been at a family reunion where his uncles
told stories about how farmers came after them with shotguns when they
were caught stealing watermelons. So we stayed on the nearby dirt roads
and took pictures of the confluence, looking north from 98 degrees, and
looking west from 39 degrees.
