06-Aug-2025 -- Today I’m making a road trip from Granada to visit two Degree Confluence Points just to the North, in Jaen province. According to Wikipedia, this province produces the most olive oil of any region in the world. Driving through this province, it’s easy to see why - olive groves are everywhere. And, not surprisingly, this Degree Confluence Point lies in an olive grove - a very large olive grove.
I reached this point by driving South along a narrow farm road that runs North-South, passing just 150m West of the point. After scrambling down a bank, I crossed a narrow irrigation ditch (lined with very long grass) that was fortunately bone dry at this time of the year (Summer). I then reached the Degree Confluence Point, which lies in a lane running North-South between two rows of olive trees.
Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
