05-Oct-2025 -- During our autumn vacation on the Peloponnese peninsula, I had the opportunity to visit two confluence points. This is the report of the first, CP 38°N 23°E, who last visited 10 years ago(!).
We drove approximately 8 kilometres north-east from Loutraki in our rental car. After turning west, we continued on the dirt road "Perachora - Megara" for another 4.5 kilometres to the parking place at N38° 00.915' E23° 00.450'. From this point, the hiking trail began, which led approximately 2.8 kilometres south to the confluence point 38°N 23°E, mostly uphill. The trail led through coniferous forest along a trail that was also partially used by enduro bikes for motor sports. The hiking trail was marked by red markers on stones and warning tape on trees and bushes. The trail also passed an abandoned shepherd's hut. Not far away was a very small pasture. The hut with the cooking area and the pasture fence were completely weathered. There was also a memorial nearby for a hunter who died in 2022. I only had to walk the last 180 meters or so cross-country towards the south-west. The confluence point 38°N 23°E is located on a slope covered with trees and all sorts of deadwood. After taking the photos, I enjoyed the wonderful view of the Gulf of Corinth view of the Gulf of Corinth on the way back and later met three enduro riders. Back at the car, the journey continued west to the village of Pisia. At the southeastern entrance to the village is the renovated church of Agios Athanasios.
On the way, we visited the impressive Corinth Canal Corinth Canal, which was built around 1890 over a length of 6 kilometres and connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Aegean Sea.>
